Mail Delivery

University Mail Services will deliver mail to Alumni Hall on the 23rd, 26th, 27th, 30th and 31st. We’ve been in close communication with Mail Services and the Post Office to ensure prompt delivery between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Credit Cards

Credit cards must be charged by midnight on December 31 to be receipted as a CY2019 gift. On the 31st, credit card gifts will be our top priority. Please submit any transactions that need to be charged by GPS as soon as possible that day. Do not send credit card numbers via email – call or fax the information to us.

Reminder: The gift date for credit cards is the date of the charge, not the postmark. For proper crediting and receipting, please ensure that all credit card gifts received in the mail in December are charged in December. Feel free to include the GPS mailing address in donor communications: University of Virginia, Gift Processing Services, P.O. Box 400331, Charlottesville, VA 22904-4331.

Securities

Please continue to alert us to incoming stock gifts by providing the donor name, stock name, the number of shares to be transferred and most importantly the designation. I will monitor our brokerage accounts on December 24th and issue sale orders accordingly. For convenience the GPS stock transfer instructions are attached.

Deadline for 2019 Gifts

The deadline to submit gifts with a 2019 postmark is 5pm on Monday January 6th. Please include envelopes with any deposits submitted to GPS after January 1st. January gift submissions should be clearly marked or held until the 10th. Do not combine December and January deposits – submit them on separate deposit spreadsheets.

Again, please contact us with questions. We’re happy to assist in any way we can.

All the best and Happy Holidays!

Sue
